This school sited on the largest slum in the Western hemisphere, Cite Soleil. Its run by Onel Francois.
There are upwards of 750 children here – all living on the slum. Conditions are tough here and the building was badly damaged by the quake. Onel has rebuilt some classrooms himself.
Here is what Bridge2Haiti has done:
- Funded the installation of a 1,000L water purifier.
- Doubled the size of the playground – dug out the new section to a depth of 6 feet and replaced with gravel so now the ground can drain properly.
- Built a new toilet block with huge underground catchment chamber.
- Built 3 new classrooms and renewed 1/2 of the perimeter wall.
