Typhoon Yolanda slammed into the Philippines in November 2013 and Bridge 2 mustered a team to respond – on the team was a retired surgeon in Roger Allsopp and a retired nurse Jean Rouget. This was where we first met the SAMU Medical team and ended up working in close collaboration with them and it would see us team up a further time 2 months later – the friendship and working relationship was sealed and this would see the 2 teams responding together for future missions.

Work in The Philippines included working closely with Shelterbox and doing large food distributions for 600 to 800most days. It also involved negotiating with the Mayors office to enable us to go to outlying Islands for food distribution and medical clinics too.

3 further trips have been made mainly doing medical clinics as outreach.

All this with the help of Randy Galacio Barrientos our Bridge 2 man on the ground.
