2015 saw a massive earthquake (7.8) hit Nepal and Bridge2 hit the ground running with a team of 12 to Katmandu and then upwards into the mountains to Dolakha Bazaar which had been devastated.
The main focus was medical as half our team were the professional disaster relief trained SAMU crew from Spain.
Sarah had met and worked with them previously in The Philippines and they made a natural choice for a team merger.
One of the projects that is ongoing is the repair of a Children’s home at Dadagaun just outside Kathmandu.
The home has pretty much been rebuilt but there is more that Bridge2 can do to enhance it further. A sponsor programme has been set up to help to assist a little with the children’s schooling and extra food.
Bridge2 are extremely fortunate to have Amir Bagale as their on the ground B2 rep – he is a wonderful dedicated man who spends his down time helping those less fortunate.
